Gedanken: Über Instagram und Selfies

Ich sitze in der Straßenbahn und denke mir: "Jetzt wäre der richtige Moment für ein Selfie". Sowieso benötigt mein Instagram Account mal wieder ein Update. Doch leider hat mein Smartphone keine Frontkamera.
Als ich mir damals mein Handy aussuchte, war ich noch nicht bei Instagram angemeldet. Ich sah keinen nutzen in einer Frontkamera. Heute bereue ich es ein bischen. Kurz kommt mir der Gedanke, einfach ein neues Smartphone zukaufen. Doch sofort schießt mir ein Bild von Elektroschrottbergen durch den Kopf und ich verwerfe die Idee wieder. Und überhaupt: mit meinem Handy bin ich eigentlich zufrieden, wo liegt da der Sinn?
 

Der Drang sich über Selfies, Instagram und co. zu präsentieren ist heutzutage groß. Ein Blogger der Instagram nicht nutzt, scheint unvorstellbar. Schon allein um mit den Lesern jenseits langer Texte in Verbindung zu bleiben.

Instagram zeigt eine schöne Welt - zu schön um wahr zu sein. Dieses Thema wurde mittlerweile schon auf diversen Blogs diskutiert, aber zu vielen ist es immer noch nicht durchgedrungen.

Instagram ist nicht die Realität. Leckeres Essen, schön drapierte Accessoires und aufgestylte Frisuren. Ein perfektes Leben. Und vor allem jede Menge Konsum.

Und nicht nur mir geht das Ganze mittlerweile auf die Nerven (so inspirierend ich Instagram auch finde). Die Gegenbewegung liefert Snapchat. Der neue Hype. Vielleicht sogar das neue Instagram?

Doch auch hier braucht man wieder.., ganz klar, ein Frontkamera.

 

Ich sitze mit dem iPhone einer Freundin in der Aula unserer Schule und versuche ein Selfie zu machen, probiere verschiedene Filter aus, suche nach dem richtigen Winkel. Ich bin das Ganze nicht gewöhnt und brauche länger als die Anderen. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich mich blöd anstelle, aber ich rede mir ein, dass mir die Übung fehlt.

Ich drücke fünf mal den Aulöser, lächle, schneide Grimassen. Ich schaue mir die Bilder an und lösche alle wieder. Nach gefühlten 10 Minuten sind drei Bilder übrig. Was für eine Zeitverschwendung!

In diesem Moment bin ich froh, dass mein Handy in Kameradingen nicht auf dem neusten Stand ist. Wahrscheinlich würde ich Stunden damit verbringen, das perfekte Foto zu knipsen.

When I first picked out my phone, I was not registered on Instagram yet. There was no use in a front camera. Today I regret it a bit. Shortly it occurs to me, just to buy a new smartphone. But immediately picture of electrical crap mountains came into my mind and I reject the idea again. And anyway, I really like my smartphone, where's the point?

The drive to present ourselves with Selfies, Instagram and co. is big today. A Blogger, who does not use Instagram seems unimaginable.
Instagram is a beautiful world - to good to be true. This issue has  been discussed on various Blogs now, but it is still not penetrated everywhere.
Instagram is not the reality. Delicious food, beautiful draped accessories and great hairstyles. A perfect life. And above all, lots of consumption.
It´s getting on my nerves (as inspiring Instagram is). The counter-movement provides Snapchat. The new hype. Maybe even the new Instagram? But here again .. you need, clearly, a front camera.

I sit in the auditorium of our school with the iPhone of a friend  and try to make a Selfie, try out different filters, look for the correct angle. I'm not used to the whole thing, and I need more time than the others. I have a feeling that I rather behave stupidly, but I tell myself that I haven´t the exercise.
I press five times the button, smile, grimace. I look at the pictures and delete all again. After what felt like 10 minutes three images are left. What a waste of time!
At this moment I am happy that my phone is not up to date in camera things. I would probably spend hours trying to take the perfect photo.
